Hello Friends of the Concordia Greenhouse,

Concordia University will be host to a huge festival this September all
about FOOD: delicious, sustainable, local, nutritious... and your help is
requested in making this event come together. The event will bring urban
agricultural organizations and local farmers together on the Hall building
terrace with workshops, tastings, music and film. Also there are some
fantastic workshops coming up at Mcgill's campus crops. Read on...

1. Mcgill's Campus Crops: summer workshops

Mountain Walk July 25 at 3pm, meet in the Campus Crops garden (behind 3534
University) to take a walk around the mountain and learn about medicinal
and edible things that grow in our city!

Plants in Your Pants Aug 3 at 5pm in our garden (behind 3534 University),
a workshop on herbal gynecology!

Preserving! (sometime mid-August) at the Midnight Kitchen, we will be
spending a long afternoon learning how to preserve all our delicious
produce from the garden

Callout for Volunteers!

We need help with the organization of a sustainable food festival
scheduled for September 15th!

This is a great opportunity to get experience in many areas of event
organizing.

Please apply or direct your questions to concordiaeats2010@gmail.com by
July 28th at noon.

Positions:

Concordia Groups Coordinator
Duties include:
-Group outreach and communication
-Logistical planning an overseeing on day of fest
-Activity and demo scheduling
-Collecting and transcribing info about each group for online map

Writer
Duties Include:
-Press releases
-Sponsorship Proposals
-Volunteer callouts

Promotional/communications
Duties include:
-Media outreach and promotions
-Slogan ads
-Work with designer on Posters
-Coordinating tasting stands

Music Coordinator
Duties include
-Band outreach
-Technical logistics
-Stage managing

Film Night Coordinator
Duties include:
-film choice
-logistics
-promotions

We are located on the north-west corner of Concordia's Hall Building, 1455
de Maisonneuve West. To get here, go to the 12th floor and follow the
signs to stairwell # 1285 (turn left, right, left from the elevator or
right, left from the escalator) and go up!
