SUBMISSION GUIDELINES TO NMP

YOUR SUBMISSION SHOULD INCLUDE:

Title
• Please provide a title for your article.
• For interviews, include the interviewee’s name in the title.

An Image (optional but recommended)

• Submit an image relating to the content of your submission;
• Label image credit as file name (lastname.jpg)
• Please ensure that you have permission for using all images,
as they will appear in both print and online (you are responsible for copyright/cc);
• Please make sure that the image is in print quality: 300dpi and at least 7” wide
(if unsure, send us your best version and we will make the proper adjustments);
• We reserve the right to make the final decision regarding all images on the site.

Bio
• Include a 200-word biography.
• Include your full name (as you wish it to appear on the site).

FOR WRITERS
• The suggested length is 1000 words / the maximum length is 1500 words.
• We encourage a diversity of styles.
• You can send your piece in Word, OpenOffice, or RTF.

FOR INTERVIEWS
• The suggested length is 1000 words / the maximum length is 1500 words.
• Please include a 200-500 introduction to explain the context of the interview.

FOR VIDEO
• Include a text or artist statement of at least 500 words.
• Contact Dayna (dayna@nomorepotlucks.org) for FTP information.

FOR AUDIO
• Include a text or artist statement of at least 500 words.
• Submit your audio in mp3 format (convert using iTunes)
• Please limit your audio to 10 minutes, or cut it up in many 10-minute parts.

FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS/ILLUSTRATORS
• Submit 5-10 images at 300 dpi
• Format: jpg or tif or png
• Specify if you want two of the images side by side (centrefold) or other details (if applicable)
• Indicate artist name in the file name (lastname1.jpg lastname2.jpg)
• Include an artist statement of a minimum of 500 words.

FOR COVER PHOTOGRAPHERS
• Send us 5-8 images to choose from.
• Please submit in .jpg or .png or .psd format
• Submit best resolution (minimum 7.5 x 7.5 inches at 300 dpi for the print version).
• Note that the NMP logo will appear on the cover image, as it would for any magazine or journal cover.


Contributor’s Responsibilities
• You are responsible for clearing all the permissions/copyright for your submission. By default, your work is copyrighted.
• You retain copyright over your work and are free to publish it elsewhere – after it has been published on NMP.
• We encourage use of Creative Commons licenses.
• With a Creative Commons license, you keep your copyright but allow people to copy and distribute your work provided they give you credit —
and only on the conditions you specify.
• By Submitting to NMP, you are agreeing to let us edit your work, and when applicable,
make certain formatting choices. We will publish (in print and as an epub) a version of each edition of NMP.

Copyright Notice for Visitors (to NMP)
• Copyright for articles published in this journal is retained by the authors. By virtue of their appearance in this journal,
articles are free to use, with proper attribution, in educational and other non-commercial settings.
Note that authors are responsible for obtaining permission to include copyrighted material in any article or review published in NMP.
• This site, epub, and print journal is owned and operated by nomorepotlucks.org (NMP).
All content is protected by international copyright law, including whatever creative commons license attributed by the author/creator of the piece in question.

Fees
• Currently, NMP is run solely by volunteers.
• This means that NMP is without funding and all production, labour, contributions, work, etc., is unpaid.
